Bio
This exotic beauty hails from the very large city of Austin, Texas. Born of an Italian/African American mother and Puerto Rican father whom both served in the Armed Forces; life from the very beginning has kept this young beauty on the road. Often being asked by press if Marquita Bianca is a stage name she remarks, "My parents chose my name from a list including Dallas and China; and I am greatful! If named Dallas I don't think life during their losing seasons would've been bearable."
At age 5 Marquita started her modeling career in both runway and print work. Times were often hard as her parents traveled and she was forced to change schools very often. MB became very independent very early as friends were hard to remain in contact with. During Middle and High School MB took part in many after school activities including cheerleading, debate, track, as well as creating a Hispanic organization and overseeing it as president. Excelling in high school, MB was given permission to work during school hours. She took the opportunity to explore the field of Veterinary Medicine as an assistant and groomer. While working at her 3rd hospital Marquita acquired her dog Juan Carlos, named after a close friend who is deceased. At the age of 21, MB decided she no longer wanted to work in the Medical field or for anyone for that matter. She then started her first business, Events by Bianca was an event planning business that focused heavily on the wedding industry. Marquita planned weddings for brides locally and as far as Puerto Rico; her business was very successful yet time consuming. Being all work and no play a very close friend invited MB out to a night club that gave free salsa lessons. The lessons weren't very good but there were other dancers that caught her eye. Marquita had grown up in a very diverse household; the food, music, and family were always in abundance but she had never seen structured dance like this. She instantly fell in love and knew it wasn't just a phase.
The Austin, Texas native from that day has danced everyday. After continuing to go out week upon week consistently Ms. Bianca met a dancer by the name of Chris Harris who trained in Japan. "He taught me how to be creative, love the music, and pay attention!" Chris was a very loved dancer in the area who traveled and took his salsa seriously. She began to travel herself to DC, NY, MIA and where ever she could find salsa.
After a year and a half of dancing socially Marquita joined Mezzlocutis Dance CO where her director PsyonMauricio taught her how to take everything she knew socially, clean it up and express it technically. "Even though I have met many great dancers in and out of the country Psyon holds a special place with me. He is very free and out of the box! It's not something you find everyday." Marquita would travel to DC every Tuesday and Thursday for dance practice. That meant driving 3 1/2 hours for a 2 hour practice then returning home the same night; sometimes getting home at 3am only to work the next day. To date she has continued to train and she remains very much so a student in mind. "There is so much to learn and I want my students to embody that mind set as well!"
Marquita Bianca has teamed up with many extraordinary talents in the industry. She has appeared on BET's 106 & Park, BET's Blaze the Stage, MTV's Super Sweet Sixteen, and more! Her new dance Troupe 'Mambo Debela' performed for BET again Dec 27, 2007 alongside Lauri Ann Gibson (formerly of MTV's Making of the Band). Her dance company(M.A.D.E) travels both professionally and socially to provide service and support to our ever growing dance community.
Along with her dance career taking off she is vastly becoming sought after in the modeling and print industry as well. Her diversity and ability to display all her many facets shows that this southern bell's career has a very bright future.
