THE WOMAN. THE DANCER. THE DREAMER
Classic and ecletic are two words that have been used to describe the very eppervescent style that Marquita Bianca has. Born from Italian/African American and Puertorican parents this star set her eyes on the entertainment and fashion industry at the age of 21 years old. Having studied dance now for 7 years MB, as she's affectionately called is setting her sites on building much more than just a dance company she is building a dance and fashion empire. MB started with her career site in the Veterinary Medicine field, having an extreme love for animals she worked her way through high school and her beginning years of college in a veterinary hospital. While in the midst of her studies, working two jobs it wasn't until MB's 21st birthday that she took her very first salsa lesson. Captivated by the movement MB found herself inlove with the sultry, artistic style of Mambo aka New York Style Salsa ON2. The summer of MB's 21st birthday she began to travel to DC from her home of Virginia Beach, VA to explore her new love of dance. Before she knew it she was traveling to Florida, Texas, New York, Chicago to grow her new found artistry.
MB decided very shortly after that dance would be her career. MB joined the Mezzlocutis Dance Company based in Washington DC 3 1/2 hours from where she resided. MB determined to grow and learn traveled two days a week from Virginia Beach to Washington DC for team practice while continuing her education and work back home. The years of traveling not only prepared MB to be the Dance Company Director she is today but also fueled her belief that what you put your mind to is not only a possibility but anyone can make their dreams come true. But MB didn't stop at Mambo her love of dance led her to seek artistic training for many forms and genres of dance. Her diverse love and sassy stage presence has made her a sought after dance performer for clients near and far. MB has worked with numerous artists and has appeared on MTV and BET on multiple occasions. She has also worked with BET as a Judge for their Blaze the Stage competitons alongside other artists such as Laurieann Gibson, Fat Joe, Pretty Ricky and some of the countries top A&R Label Reps.
In 2011, MB was honored with the Phenominal Woman Award by The Center of Attention Foundation (COA) for her Community and Business efforts. Today, MB oversees her dance company and an evergrowing fashion brand. She mentors upcoming entreprenuers, business owners and still lives by the DREAM BIG mentality. "I believe if I can do it anyone can and its my goal to help the ones who are hungry for it to know what I didn't know to set them up for success!"
THE BRAND
In 2009 Marquita Bianca turned designer with her debut line of merchandise called LegLovers by Marquita Bianca. The Sexy Thigh High Legging took the nation by storm being named the "New Sexy" of our time and being worn by fashionistas from LA to Bermuda. In 2010, her debut line earned her a "Best Upcoming Designer" nomination at the Virginia Fashion awards. In 2011 MB expanded her brand of merchandise with a handmade Clutch Bag line. With her brands bold, chic designs MB' Brands are geared towards women with a trendy, fashion forward, and high end shopping spirit at a accessible price point. When asked about her demographic and brand focus MB remarks, "I design for the woman that works hard, plays hard and Believes that anything is Possible! At the end of the day I am that woman!"
