A Day at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
It’s starting to feel like summer here in my beloved Virginia Beach. Events are being posted and the weather is finally starting to come around (it has taken its time). On a lucky Saturday my favorite person and better half were able to pack up and spend the weekend in Williamsburg, Virginia. The short trip is a little over an hour. Making it close enough to be an easy drive but far enough to feel like a great getaway. Making it even sweeter Busch Gardens and McDonald’s partnered on the launch of the park's new coaster and hosted us for the day to try Pantheon.
Pantheon™, the world’s fastest multi-launch roller coaster, harnesses the speed and strength of five of the greatest Roman Gods. This record-breaking coaster stands 180 feet tall with a top speed of 73 mph, and features a 95° drop, 4 launches, 5 air-time hills and 2 inversions.
BG Food and Wine Festival
Virginia’s largest Spring Food and Wine Festival has over 100 dishes, wines, cocktails and craft beers from around the globe, including new menus inspired by Australia and Greece. With more than 30 ALL-NEW samples and sips, every visit offers a new adventure for culinary explorers. Embrace your taste for thrills on the all-new Pantheon, the world’s fastest multi-launch coaster, now open! Virginia’s largest spring food and wine festival is complete with specialty wine and liquor tastings, live music, entertainment, and world-class shows.
We had an absolute blast spending the day at the park tasting all the things. The festival runs until June 12th and to help you plan your trip I thought I’d break down some key things!
How to participate:
The festival offers a tasting card to experience food and drinks in each country. Tasting cards come in options of 10 items for $59 and 15 items for $79. We had the 15 item options and we were able to get everything we wanted with it.
Quick tip: You can still pay a la carte for any items you want to try. If you prefer to use your punch card for food and pay for some drinks separately then go for it! Menu items vary in price. Purchase your tickets here
Menu & Our favorites:
All park menus are displayed in purple and have plenty to choose from. While we chose to have lunch before going to the park the sample size amounts were still great.
Virginia Apple Pie Moonshine was delish! We both ordered a sample to toast the fun day ahead. Some of our other favorites were the Tuna Poke bowl and Stella Pineapple wine. These can both be found in Hawaii. The Mushi-Gyoza in Japan with Sake, of course! Greece has a lamb burger to die for and we tried something new by sampling the Ouzo lemonade. If you’ve never had an Ouzo liquor it has a deep licorice taste. The lemonade paired well and made it interesting.
Notable drinks to try in order of how much we loved it. 1) Watermelon Margarita 2) Jamaica’s Dark and Stormy 3) Herbal Infusion’s Mint Julip.
Lastly, I am pretty sure I speak for my love when I urge you to try the Beneigh. He will tell you not to leave the park before you try them. They are delish and a must have!

Thank you Busch Gardens and McDonald’s for being a wonderful host to us! We are excited to visit again soon!
