Cycle syncing your productivity
There are times during the month in previous years that I find myself in flow or as I would describe as “killing the game” then there have been the not so moments of flow. The dramatic high and lows led me to do more intentional work around ways that I can both be productive during my cycle but most importantly be more kind to myself. With some research here are lists of tasks that I have found fit comfortably within each cycle. Full disclaimer: Sometimes I get it all done and other times I don’t but 100% of the time I give myself grace. This list isn’t for us to adopt a mindset that we have to be productive but rather a guide to be more aligned with things that may feel best at the time. Using our energy wisely can help bring a feeling of success more than you know!
Luteal phase is brilliant for “independent productivity”
This is a great time to do all the things that people may deem boring while you are alone. Self care should be a big part of your luteal phase as well. Tie up any loose ends of projects that you have looming. This can be especially helpful since we tend to start projects in our follicular phase. If you didn’t finish it and tend to have brain fog in your menstrual cycle this would be the time to do so!
Menstrual phase is a great time to reflect
Many of us try to be warriors in this phase. The best advice is not to. In fact, take the time to honor your body for doing what nature intended. Your menstrual phase can be a powerful time to self reflect. Take time to journal your thoughts and reflect on successes. This can also strategically be used to journal your feelings to work through pain or trauma. If you can delegate any work that you are not up to doing.
Follicular phase is the time to let your creativity shine!
Our minds tend to birth creative ideas during this phase. I suggest keeping a notebook handy to brain dump and organize ideas for later. This is a great time to draw near to your love lists. This is also a good time to start those projects you’ve been looking to do!
Ovulation phase is the best time to get social!
When we ovulate our communication and social skills are on another level. This is a great time to chat with friends, attend events or even collaborate with both work and play. With confidence being at its height you’ll want to capitalize on every minute.
While we all differ in how the phases affect us one thing is for sure we can start to implement erasing our guilt for constantly feeling less than when you do. We owe it to ourselves to be a student of ourselves. As the days pass and the seasons change, so do you. What works today may not work tomorrow. In your studies and reflection this will become more and more apparent. Finally, never be afraid to ask for help.
