Singleness is often portrayed as a waiting room, but it can be one of the most powerful, purposeful seasons of your life. Whether you’ve entered this space by choice or circumstance, it holds the potential to become a launching pad for healing, alignment, and intentional living. If you’re ready to turn this chapter into a season of becoming, here’s how I began developing my own strategy for navigating singleness with grace and growth.
From Healing to Alignment
Finding yourself single can be one of the most empowering places—and at times, one of the most depleting. Both realities are valid. What helped me most on the journey from healing to alignment was recognizing it as a season to become the kind of person who could not only write but receive my Love Lists.
Here are a few skills and mindset shifts that made a meaningful difference:
1. Align with the Right Mentors
Whether in person or digital, seek mentors who mirror the kind of life you’re building. I looked for women in healthy marriages, those who showed up healed (not perfect, but grounded), and those leading meaningful public lives. Mentorship can also come through books, podcasts, and courses.
2. Adjust Your Awareness
Depending on your background, you may either be hyper-aware or not aware enough. I discovered I was too aware—especially in my tendency to help others beyond what was necessary. Awareness is a beautiful quality, but it needs to be in harmony with your personal values and boundaries.
3. Develop Soft Skills
There’s a “2.0” level of soft skills that deeply supports your nervous system during this time. My top three areas were:
Organization: Trimming down responsibilities helped me calm my system and make space for healing. Remember, you can always add things back in later.
Creativity: Heartbreak can cloud your creativity or skew it into a darker space. I chose simple, pressure-free activities like coloring and cooking—acts that brought beauty without needing immediate answers.
Adaptability: Not to be confused with settling—adaptability helped me stay open to new experiences while keeping them aligned with my values. Some adventures were fleeting joys, others clarified what I truly desire.
Plan by Your Era
A helpful mindset shift for me was to plan according to my Era rather than the world’s calendar. That gave me the freedom to honor where I was emotionally, energetically, and spiritually—without the pressure to meet external timelines.
Find planning tools to support your Era here.
Your single season is not a placeholder—it’s a preparation ground. With the right perspective, aligned support, and a strategy that prioritizes your healing and joy, you can transform this season into one of clarity, empowerment, and intention. You don’t have to rush. You just have to stay rooted in who you’re becoming. The love, life, and alignment you seek are not only possible—they’re already being shaped by what you choose today.
